Adele Melia, 3. 2, claims her family's one- year- old St Bernard, known as Zitka, is 'always up to no good', including tearing clothes down off the washing line, digging up the garden and drinking from the toilet. And in a bid to be 'one of the boys', Ms Melia caught hilarious photos of when the excitable giant plunged into paddling pool as her three sons enjoyed the warm weather.

A mother has caught the moment her cheeky pet St Bernard jumped into a paddling pool to be with her sons. Celebrating her son Nathan's ninth birthday, Ms Melia had already rushed to get the paddling pool fixed after clumsy Zitka punctured it. Ms Melia, from Jarrow, County Durham, said: 'Zitka's in the pool all the time with the kids.'We were having a BBQ and the dogs were absolutely going mental in the garden. But] his brother, Keeni, is older and much more laidback.'It was Nathan's birthday and we'd already taken the paddling pool to have a puncture repaired that morning then rushed it back in time.'The kids had been cannonballing in it and all sorts, but then Zitka bit it and it wouldn't inflate.

Ms Melia said: 'He's always up to no good. He pulls all my washing off the line, goes mad when it rains and thinks it's fun to dig himself to China.'He lets out wind and scares himself. The boys think it's hilarious because my partner hates it and the smell makes him gag, which just spurs him on even more.'They're are in fits of laughter when they see his reaction.'He does the Beethoven- style head shake with drool flying all over and chases rabbits in his dreams - or that's what we think he is chasing. Ms Melia said: 'He's always up to no good. He pulls all my washing off the line, goes mad when it rains and thinks it's fun to dig himself to China'Zitka is seen trying to steal a biscuit from Ms Melia's young son as the pair sit outside'No door is safe with Zitka around as he tries to bust through them if he isn't near us.'He'll constantly spy on us and if he's in a huff, he'll sit in front of you if you're trying to walk and give you a dirty look.'One day I got the kids ready, ran them to school and when I came back Zitka greeted me with a great big kiss.'I later discovered he had been upstairs drinking out the toilet and one of the kids didn't flush the loo.'You can imagine how a St Bernard drools when drinking - it was all down his chin.'He was my dream dog. I'd always wanted a St Bernard and now I have a big enough garden and house, we could get one.'He's absolutely fantastic with the children.
